Good-day sunlight
I’d like to say how truly bright you are
You don’t know me but I know you
You’re my favorite star
Follow you I will so lets get moving
Who needs shelter when the mornings coming?
Absolutely there’s no one
Who needs shelter from the sun?
Not me, no. not anyone.
By your clock the cock rooster crows
Then off to work where everybody goes
Slow, But eventually they get there
Picking up the day shift back where all left off
Confined and pecking at relationships
You know it’s only a worthless piece of shit
Who needs shelter when the mornings coming?
Absolutely there’s no one
Who needs shelter from the sun?
Not me, no. not anyone.
I’d sleep it all away but the sun wont let me
I’d miss those lovely days of summer
Good-day sunlight
I’d like to say how truly bright you are
You don’t know me but I know you
You’re my favorite.

The night.
She brushed her hands upon my flushed cheek
Smelled of childhood remnants of a dusty weeping willow
Clouds soothe, Shredded by the calico
Were oh so vast and quick as I was on my own now.
This time like every other time I believe that I never find
Another sweet little girl with sequined sea foam eyes
Ocean lapping voice smile coy as the brightest quiet span of sky
And I’m all alone again tonight not again, not again, not again.
And don’t it feel allright. and don’t it feel so nice. Lovely.
Still I’m unable to inhale all the riches
As I’m awkward as a wound on my bones
Still I’ve got cobblestone joints and plate glass points
As I’m all by myself tonight not again not againE
And don’t it feel allright. and don’t it feel so nice. Lovely.
Well if you should nervously break down
When its time for the shakedown would you take it
It’s when you cry just a little but you laugh in the middle that you’ve made it
And don’t it feel allright. and don’t it feel so nice.
Lovely.
Say it again. Lovely. So lovely. to do it again
Again. Loving again. It’s coming again.
Lovely.

You. You were a friend. You were a friend of mine I let you spend the night
You see how it was my fault. Of course it was mine.
I’m too hard at work. Have you ever heard of anything so absurd ever in your life.
I’m sorry for wasting your time.
Who am I to say this situation isn’t great? It’s my job to make the most of it
Of course I didn’t know that it would happen to me. Not that easy.
Hey what’s that you say? You’re not blaming me for anything that’s great
But I don’t break that easy. Does it fade away?
So that’s why I’m apologizing now for telling you I thought that we could make it
I just don’t get enough to believe that we’ve both changed.
Who am I to say this situation isn’t great? It’s my time to make the most of it
How could I ever know that this would happen to me, not that easy, no
All along the fault is up for grabs why don’t you have it
Well it’s for sale go make your offer, I’ll sell it for no less than what I bought it for
Pay no more than absolutely zero.
Well neither one of us deserves the blame because opportunities moved us away
And it’s not an easy thing to learn to play a game that’s made for two that’s you and me
The rules remain a mystery. See it can be easy.
Who am I to say this situation isn’t great? It’s our time to make the most of it
How could we ever know that this would happen to me, not that easy, no
All along the fault is up for grabs and there you have it
Well it’s for sale go make your offer, I’ll sell it for no less than what I bought it for
Pay no more than absolutely zero.

Below is an unedited review of Monday night’s Jason Mraz concert at the Paramount Theatre scheduled to be printed in Wednesday’s edition of the P-I.
Music review Jason Mraz When: Monday night Where: Paramount Theatre
By Travis Hay Special to the P-I
Jason Mraz started the second night of his two-night stint at the Paramount Theatre Monday by telling the sold-out crowd he didn’t know what songs to play because he sang all his hits the previous night.
So instead of delivering a set filled with the typical radio singles and VH1 pop songs Mraz dug deep into his songbook and performed two hours of material he said he rarely plays live nowadays. That meant songs like “The Remedy (I Won’t Worry)” “Curbside Prophet” and “Geek In The Pink” were replaced by the likes of “Life Is Wonderful,” “Sleep All Day” and others. The show was dubbed “a special acoustic performance” and Mraz was accompanied by drums, bass, piano, an occasional horn section and percussion provided by his longtime friend Toca Rivera. For most of the night Mraz was all business, barely taking the time to share stories and chitchat with the crowd like he has done during past shows here. Perhaps that was because of the acoustic nature of the show or his decision to play a rarities-laden set.
The combination of the acoustic instrumentation and the general overall vibe of Mraz’s music made for a pretty mellow concert. That same combination also allowed Mraz’s vocals to take center stage and like his past concerts at the Paramount, the acoustics of the venue let Mraz really showcase his voice. He later gave the show a much needed shot of energy by ending the main set with “The Dynamo of Volition.”
The biggest response from the crowd came during “I’m Yours,” which was the second-to-last song in the encore. It was the rarity of the set in that it was an actual radio single scattered among deeper album cuts. Keeping with the theme of playing material rarely heard live, the night ended with Mraz on stage by himself singing “The Boy’s Gone.”
Irish singer Lisa Hannigan opened the show with a 30-minute set that came to a close with a powerful cover of Iron & Wine’s “Free Until They Cut Me Down.” She also accompanied Mraz on a duet of “Lucky” during his set filling the song’s Colbie Caillat role. Hannigan has an impressive and promising set of pipes that come close to being a cross between Tori Amos and Bjork.
